The Role

NTT DATA UK is looking for a Programme Managers with Telecoms industry experience to join our UK team, supporting one of our established Tier 1 Telco Media clients based in Berkshire.

  • Works with HoD and Director(s) to secure multiple business sponsors and benefit owners at Exec Level
  • Manages substantial financial budgets e.g. central Investment Committee approved budgets in excess of £5m (can often be allocated multiple projects or more than one programme)
  • Analyses the project requirements and defines the project deliverables to meet the benefits identified by the business (likely to be multiple functional changes); contributes to the definition of the business case and financial modellingInstrumental in the procurement and negotiation of 3rd party contracts and resource
  • Determines, procures and manages appropriate resources to deliver the programme (cross-functional / divisional / aligned resources and multiple complex third parties, and other project managers)
  • Implements and maintains a consistent project/programme management methodology ensuring that the project teams conform to appropriate governance including all project documentation;
  • Reviews and monitors project status to provide regular progress reports to key stakeholders and executive updates
  • Manages and is accountable for all aspects of risk, issues and contingency; takes action to manage change and trade risk(s)
  • Identifies dependencies with other business projects and programmes and will intervene and review contentions where applicable
  • Manages and approves all project and programmes communications Leads and directs virtual project teams and coaches others
  • Can lead, manage and enable a team of permanent and/or contract resources to deliver high levels of project delivery and customer service, promoting effective working relationships with all their internal customers and suppliers
  • Implements structured development and performance management programmes for team including objective setting, regular reviews, feedback and training and development needs to increase delivery capability across the group

In this role, you will define, plan and manage the deliverables for assigned initiative(s) or workstreams as part of larger project(s)/ programmes and will ensure that the project or initiatives produce the required deliverables to the agreed standard of quality and within the specified constraints of cost, risk and time.

Able to demonstrate:

  • Significant experience of portfolio / project management in a multi- disciplined and commercial environment
  • Advanced knowledge and demonstrable experience of portfolio / project planning processes, techniques and methodologies
  • Advanced stakeholder management, negotiation and conflict management skills
  • Owns and manages resolution of escalated project/programme issues
  • Highly developed ability to manage multiple project risks dealing with uncertainty, whilst being proactive and forward looking
  • Detailed knowledge of strategic business objectives and drivers and complex organisational designs and structures, and how this relates to portfolio being managed
  • Knowledge of the external environment within which the company operates

The Person

You are great at-

  • Performing in a Delivery/Project  Manager function in (a) multi-disciplined and commercial environment with the Telecoms industry.
  • Mastering project planning processes, techniques and methodologies.
  • Managing stakeholders, negotiation and conflict, with the ability to identify and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Identifying and tackling project risks and dealing with uncertainty, whilst being proactive and forward-looking.
  • Will have PRINCE 2, APMP and likely to have MSP or other recognized industry qualification
