The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Lead to join the Infrastructure team, based on a customer site in London. 

The team provides BAU operational support and project delivery across all infrastructure towers to multiple Public and Private Sector customers.

This role will work closely with customers to assist them in both BAU support and the design and delivery of new infrastructure projects.

The Opportunity

  • To act as the onsite infrastructure technical expert for customer queries.
  • To provide BAU operational support across customer platforms, including health checks and reporting and act as a technical escalation point for major incidents.
  • Proactive management of customer environments, identifying potential improvements to deliver increased stability, availability and performance.
  • To lead the design and implementation of new infrastructure platforms, including the creation of associated documentation (HLD/LLD, support documentation etc.).
  • Able to develop infrastructure roadmaps, customer proposals, impact assessments and statements of work for the delivery of further solutions.
  • Developing strong relationships with other engineers within the Shared Service Centre to provide and share technical issue resolution and knowledge.  This will include the responsibility to ‘shift left’, increasing the Service Desk FTF for infrastructure incidents.

The Person

  • A high level of technical knowledge and experience across IT Infrastructure at an enterprise level.
  • Detailed technical knowledge of Microsoft Server, Exchange, VMware, Citrix, VDI Unix/Linux, Public Cloud (Azure/AWS), O365 and Networking technologies gained in a hands-on technical support role.
  • Experience of performing the role of a consultant, designing and implementing solutions to business requirements.
  • Able to contribute to technical strategy, service development and provide innovation as well as being able to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems and incidents.
  • Able to create and develop automation scripts (Powershell, JSON etc.)
  • A number of current professional IT certifications across infrastructure vendors such as Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, Citrix, AWS and ideally an ITIL certification with experience of working within the framework.


***SC level security clearance is desirable, but not essential.  The role will require SC clearance to be obtained, therefore candidates must be eligible.
