The Role

Founded in early 2012, NTT DATA EMEA Ltd. is the Regional Headquarter, with approx. 1B EUR annual turnover and consolidating companies in some 10 different legal systems, in the European Economic Area and in Middle/ Far East, roughly 8,000 employees across the Region. EMEA is fully owned by NTT DATA Corp. (stocklisted in Japan).

NTT DATA EMEA has a Lead Data Protection Officer (“Lead DPO”), which coordinates DPOs community in the EMEA region. A single instance platform (GDPR Sec 30) is available across the region. Data Privacy Overarching Policies were released in 2018 and are updated on a regular basis. Data Privacy Offices are set at Operational Level (“OpCo”) and at EMEA level (“EMEA P/O”). Lead DPO, EMEA CISO plus other internal resources, as appropriate, forms EMEA P/O.

This role is designed to strengthen EMEA Data Privacy Office with a new Data Privacy Expert. The Data Privacy Expert will be employed with a local company and dedicated to EMEA.

The Opportunity

  • The candidate will be responsible for delivering innovative privacy programs across the EMEA regional footprint, i.e. inter alia
    • addressing internal ongoing cloud-based projects
    • drafting relevant data privacy templates
    • carry on training courses
    • provide opinions on Data Protection Impact Assessment or on actual cases  and
    • liaising with local OpCos stakeholders and DPOs, where appointed
  • Candidate will be central to responding to a dynamic privacy landscape and will rise to the challenge of working with key business areas in a fast-paced, highly creative environment

Being member of EMEA Privacy Office and reporting to the Lead DPO.

The Person

  • Strong expertise as DPO or as Privacy Expert with practical understanding of data protection law and practice, with relevant experience supporting a data protection programme
  • Proven experience supporting a major change or improvement programme
  • CIPP/E or similar professional qualification
  • Works co-operatively with others to achieve team objectives being collegial, collaborative, open
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated in both day-to-day work and in formal meetings and reporting context
