Specialty Insurance - Principal
Sales, London

The team you'll be working with:

In this role, you’ll work closely with senior leaders to shape and deliver high-impact consulting opportunities across the insurance sector. You’ll support the Lead on strategic initiatives—from defining and executing Target Operating Models (TOM) to guiding clients through complex transformation journeys.

You’ll build trusted relationships with stakeholders at every level, including CXO and operational leaders, showcasing our unique consulting capabilities and creating genuine value beyond immediate sales activity.

You’ll bring fresh ideas, industry insight, and operational understanding to help clients achieve meaningful outcomes. Using tailored value propositions, you’ll clearly communicate how we solve the sector’s toughest challenges. Throughout engagements, you’ll continuously refine client requirements, drive follow‑through to delivery, and negotiate commercial terms that balance client expectations with strong business performance.

What you'll be doing:

  • Use our global insurance consulting tools, TOM frameworks, and case studies to put together smart, compelling proposals for both new and existing clients.
  • Hit your agreed consulting revenue targets and keep utilisation at 40% or higher.
  • Take a leading role in shaping, defining, and delivering TOM solutions that fit each client’s needs — including scoping out what’s required and coordinating mixed teams across the project.
  • Work closely with Sales/Account Directors, support teams, and service lines to build and present solutions that really land with insurance clients — from major global carriers to fast‑growing InsurTechs.
  • Build strong relationships across the insurance sector, manage your consulting pipeline, exceed revenue goals, and ensure smooth delivery across a range of projects.
  • Help drive the growth of our insurance consulting business through collaboration, fresh thinking, and a high‑quality delivery mindset.

What experience you'll bring:

  • Strong consulting experience in the insurance sector, especially around TOM work, operational improvement, and supporting transformation.
  • A solid network of senior insurance contacts and trusted relationships with CXO and operational‑level decision-makers.
  • Confident communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to present clear, compelling value propositions and TOM strategies.
  • A proactive, follow‑through mindset that turns conversations into real opportunities, scoped projects, and progressed deals.
  • Experience creating tailored proposals using global solution assets and real insurance case studies.
  • A proven record of leading cross‑functional consulting teams, defining TOM deliverables, and achieving measurable results.
  • Strong pipeline‑management skills and a history of exceeding revenue and delivery targets within insurance consulting.
  • A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for working closely with Sales/Account Directors, service line leaders, and global SMEs.
  • A genuine commitment to our values — Clients First, Teamwork, and Foresight — and a desire to keep developing yourself and others.
  • Ambition to grow your career with NTT DATA and contribute to meaningful, high‑impact work across global insurance markets.
