Quality Assurance Senior Principal Consultant

The Role 

The Quality assurance senior principal consultant will be expected to manage the QA portfolio across multiple devops squads comprising of  Manual, Automation, Performance, Security and Network test engineers and will need to have hands on experience in the above mentioned test phases.

The candidate needs to have full stack QA experience. Hence we are looking for:

  • Extensive experience in QA
  • Experience as a portfolio Test Management - Test Planning and control, Stakeholder Management, Defect Management, Thought leadership, Optimisation and Business improvement
  • Significant experience in telecom domain
  • Hands on experience in test automation with all the below mentioned tools – Selenium Webdriver and Appium based frameworks. TestNG, Junit, Maven, Jenkins, Git Hub, Bit Bucket, TOSCA.
  • Hands on experience in state of the art Selenium based frameworks – Cinnamon and Protractor
  • Experience working with a devops methodology, using BDD approach along with Continuous Integration and Continuous deployment (CI / CD).
  • Hands-on experience in Network testing.
  • Experience of web services and API testing using SOAP UI, Postman tools and API test automaton.
  • Hands-on experience in mobile app testing.
  • Experience in testing AEM and Hybris platforms.
  • Experience in Atlassian products – JIRA, XRAY, Confluence
  • Experience in Scripting languages – Java, Python, SQL, UNIX
  • Experience in Security testing
  • Experience in Performance testing using CloudLoad, NeoLoad, Blazemeter, jmeter.
  • Mandatory – ISEB / ISTQB Foundation certified
  • Tricentis Certified – Automation Test Analyst


The Opportunity 

  • Manage QA teams from multiple squads (Minimum 5 devops squads)
  • Create automation scripts using Selenium and Appium based frameworks and integrate them with the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Setup the network testing infrastructure using femtocell and perform network testing.
  • Mobile App testing using the real devices and Perfecto
  • API manual and automation testing using postman, SOAP UI
  • Create performance scripts and execute them
  • Hybris and AEM testing
  • Be accountable for governance to ensure programmes and projects adhere to the agreed testing methodology, fusing approved processes, standards and software to realise the best colleague/customer experience 
  • Be the escalation point for testing resources assigned to projects and programmes for risks, issues and challenges, taking actions to identify, recommend solutions
  • Assess and review testing tools, solutions and frameworks on the market and deliver assessments of strengths and weaknesses and plans articulating value proposition and ROI. Implement solutions and tools across large teams whilst defining processes. 

The Person 

  • Previous experience of hands on in Selenium, Appium, performance and network testing.
  • Estimation and Planning: Provides specialist input to programme delivery roadmap articulating and managing the impact of testing across a number of complex projects/ work streams and multiple code releases. Oversees testing budget. Creates and maintains demand/supply for test resource and negotiates where demand outweighs supply. 
  • Quality Control: Ensures that all testing adheres to industry standards and challenges where appropriate across divisions and Group. Implements a division-wide programme testing control framework to ensure a standardised testing methodology, test and requirement traceability and project governance process exists. 
  • Conduct / approve Impact assessments of programmes and projects within the business change portfolio to determine the testing resource requirements
  • Assess the prioritisation and assignment of testing resource to programmes and projects spanning the portfolio 
  • Recruit testing resource to meet the requirements of projects and programmes within the QA portfolio.
  • Stakeholder Management: Builds and maintains external and internal networks to identify best practice and to build the profile of the Business Testing community. 
  • Communication and Reporting: Attends senior meetings including Steering groups. Represents testing at group governance committees across the portfolio. Builds strong relationships with IT & partners to ensure a collaborative approach to testing. 
  • Risk: Continuously evaluates, programme/ projects for testing, financial and people risk and takes appropriate steps to mitigate. 

*Base location will be on client site in Leeds, UK. However, the candidate will be requested to travel to different client locations across the UK regularly.
