The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Service Manager to join our growing shared services team, to support the development, growth and delivery aspects of our infrastructure shared services capability based out of Birmingham, but supporting clients across the UK and potentially Ireland and the Netherlands and to lead a team of infrastructure engineers delivering infrastructure services and projects to our portfolio of clients.

The Opportunity

  • Responsible for two large shared service infrastructure services teams
  • Responsible for a small group of infrastructure services delivery team members that work across client accounts.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in person communications with managers, decision makers, stakeholders and end users regarding pertinent server and operational activities.
  • Manage pre-sales within infrastructure services capability and present proposals to prospective clients.
  • Provide thought leadership to the team and act as the driving force to ensure business outcomes are realised in the shortest possible time without sacrifices on quality.
  • Manage resource demand appropriately within this shared service function (priorities)

The Person

  • Possesses a broad understanding of technology solutions being provided to clients including areas such as:
    • Security, Integration and infrastructure, Service management, including trends in the current marketplace and understands how these interact to arrive at a solution.
  • The ability to assist with delivery when new projects are awarded by clients.
  • At least three of the following with knowledge in each technology stack:
    • Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, Linux, EMC, Veritas, Citrix, Netapp.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
  • Experience of Continuity Management including:
    • Backups, Unix Admin, Incident Management, Problem Management, Release Management, Change Management, Capacity Management, Availability Management, Service Level Management and Configuration Management
  • Strong experience in a customer facing Service Delivery / Account Management role.
